On Saturday, a group of us, including Tina’s dad, Peter, affectionately known as ‘Paddy’, embarked on a heartfelt fundraising walk in memory of our much-loved and dearly missed friend, Peter Coker.

The route began at Tower Bridge, and we made our way across every bridge, including footbridges, all the way to Hammersmith Bridge, culminating in a gathering at a local pub. In a touching moment, even Tower Bridge raised itself in tribute to Peter.

Despite my best efforts, I had to bow out after four and a half hours of walking. Exhausted, I went home and slept for two hours before rejoining everyone at the pub. Tina’s dad also had to withdraw earlier, at Waterloo Bridge, due to severe back pain.

By 4 PM on Saturday, it felt as though shares in Voltarol and Ibuprofen had skyrocketed, with local care homes for the elderly on standby and the price of walking frames nearly doubling!
